Summary

This workshop gives you seven days of focused landscape photography in one of the most striking and less-photographed parts of Northern Norway.

We work in a small group with two instructors and explore a route built around extraordinary locations such as Marmorslottet, Svartisen, Láhko National Park, and selected coastal areas in Nordland. The aim is not only to bring you to beautiful places, but to help you make stronger images through close guidance in the field and thoughtful planning around light, weather, and conditions.

Why join this workshop

This workshop is designed for photographers who want extraordinary landscapes, a small-group experience, and real guidance while shooting in the field.

Over seven days, we photograph some of the most remarkable and less-photographed landscapes in Northern Norway, from the sculpted marble formations of Marmorslottet to the glacier landscapes around Svartisen and the wide alpine terrain of Láhko National Park. We also work in selected coastal areas that add variety to the week and help build a stronger final set of images.

With two instructors and a maximum of 12 participants, we keep the group small enough to give you close support throughout the workshop. Our goal is not just to take you to impressive locations, but to help you improve how you work with composition, light, atmosphere, timing, and visual decisions in the landscape.

The workshop is planned around the best available conditions each day. We photograph at sunrise and sunset when the light is strongest, and use the middle of the day for travel, scouting, review sessions, rest, or locations that work well in softer light.

Day 1 (August 2):

Bodø to Sulitjelma, Saltdal, and Mo i Rana

Travel day with photo stops along the route

  • Meet-up at Bodø Airport at 11:00 AM

  • Drive route: Bodø → Sulitjelma → Saltdal → Mo i Rana

  • Photo stops along the way depending on weather and light (landscapes, roadside viewpoints, details)

  • Arrival and check-in in Mo i Rana

  • Evening: short review and plan for the next day

Day 2 (August 3):

Marmorslottet and Upper Saltdal

Textures, details, and nature landscapes

  • Early start from Mo i Rana

Day 3 (August 4):

Gildeskål to Glomfjord

Coastal landscapes and changing light

  • Route: Mo i Rana area → Gildeskål → Glomfjord

  • Photo session in Gildeskål (coastal scenes, lines, foregrounds, mood)

  • Arrival and check-in in Glomfjord

  • Evening: sunset session near Glomfjord if conditions are good

Day 4 (August 5):

Láhko National Park

Mountain landscapes and big forms

  • Sunrise session if weather supports it

  • Full field day in Láhko National Park

    • Working with clean compositions, layers, and depth

    • Guidance in the field on exposure choices and refining your framing

  • Evening: optional image feedback / Q&A

Day 5 (August 6):

Day 6 (August 7):

A flexible day built around conditions and your goals

  • Primary plan: return to Láhko National Park for another field session (often the second visit is where the best images happen)

  • Optional add-on: RIB tour with eagle photography for those who want it

  • Evening: final review session (best images, next steps, and how to finish the edits at home)

Day 7 (August 8):

Glomfjord to Gildeskål and Bodø

Final morning and wrap-up

  • Sunrise session (optional, based on conditions)

  • Departure route: Glomfjord → Gildeskål → Bodø

  • Photo stops on the way back where light is best

  • Workshop wrap-up and departures at Bodø Airport 5:00 PM

Ambitions & Goals

This workshop is about your growth and your images. Many photo tours emphasize being at the right location at the right time — but then the instructors often focus on taking their own shots. Our philosophy is different. We’re there to guide you personally, whether that means:

  • fine-tuning your composition on the spot,

  • helping you master camera settings in tricky light, or

  • offering constructive feedback as you work.

With a small-group format (maximum six participants per instructor), you’ll receive close personal attention and one-to-one coaching every day. The aim is for every participant to return home with portfolio-worthy photographs and new confidence in their skills.

Equally important is the community: the workshop is a shared learning and inspiration experience. You’ll not only improve your photography, but also enjoy the camaraderie of traveling and photographing together in one of the most extraordinary and varied landscape regions in Northern Norway.
