Hemsedal Autumn Landscape

Photography Workshop

September 16-20, 2026 (4 Days / 4 Nights)

Hemsedal is one of Norway’s best locations for autumn landscape photography, with strong fall colors, dramatic valleys, and powerful waterfalls in mid-September. This Hemsedal Photography Workshop (September 16–20, 2026) is built around real shooting time in the field, with hands-on coaching in composition, camera settings, filters, and working a scene in changing Nordic light.

Across the workshop, we will photograph a mix of wide mountain landscapes and intimate details: winding roads, forest scenes, waterfalls, and valley views. Between shoots, you will get structured image reviews and practical editing guidance, plus one-to-one feedback so you leave with stronger photos and a clearer workflow.

The schedule is flexible on purpose: we choose sunrise and sunset locations based on weather and light so you’re always in the right place at the right time. You will go home with stronger images, a tighter workflow, and a better understanding of how to plan and shoot landscapes in changing Nordic conditions.

Workshop focus

The workshop is open to photographers at all levels. The most important requirement is a willingness to learn, explore, and develop your photography through practical field experience.

Whether you are relatively new to landscape photography or more experienced, the instruction is adapted to your level and personal goals.

During the workshop we will focus on:

  • Understanding and using natural light in landscape photography

  • Composition in both wide and intimate scenes

  • Working with depth, foregrounds, and layers

  • Photographing waterfalls and moving water

  • Using filters in the field

  • Making decisions on location, timing, and framing

  • Developing an efficient field workflow

  • Editing landscape images with a natural and consistent look

Guidance is continuous throughout the workshop, both in the field and during review and editing sessions, with plenty of opportunity for individual feedback.

Ambitions & Goals

This workshop is about your growth and your images. Many photo tours emphasize being at the right location at the right time — but then the instructors often focus on taking their own shots. Our philosophy is different. We’re there to guide you personally, whether that means:

  • fine-tuning your composition on the spot,

  • helping you master camera settings in tricky light, or

  • offering constructive feedback as you work.

With a small-group format (maximum six participants per instructor), you will receive close personal attention and one-to-one coaching every day. The aim is for every participant to return home with portfolio-worthy photographs and new confidence in their skills.

Equally important is the community: the workshop is a shared learning and inspiration experience. You will not only improve your photography, but also enjoy the camaraderie of shooting and dining together in one of the world’s most photogenic cities
