Why join this workshop
This workshop is designed for photographers who want both iconic Paris locations and real guidance in cityscape and street photography.
With two instructors and a maximum of 12 participants, we keep the group small enough to give you close support throughout the week. Our aim is not just to bring you to beautiful places, but to help you improve how you see, compose, and work with light, timing, gesture, and visual storytelling on location.
Over six days, we photograph some of the most rewarding subjects Paris has to offer, from elegant landmarks and classic viewpoints to lively neighborhoods, quieter backstreets, cafés, markets, and everyday moments that give the city its character. The workshop combines cityscape photography with guided street photography sessions, helping you build both strong single images and a more complete body of work from the trip.
Paris is one of the great cities for street photography. It offers atmosphere, rhythm, layered backgrounds, distinctive architecture, and a constant flow of human moments. Combined with sunrise and evening sessions at some of the city’s best-known locations, this creates a workshop with real variety and a strong photographic rhythm throughout the week.
What to expect
This workshop combines classic Paris locations with hands-on coaching in both cityscape and street photography.
We photograph at sunrise and in the evening whenever the light is strongest, and use the middle of the day for street photography, visual exploration, image review, rest, or informal discussion. The result is a balanced workshop that gives you both iconic Paris views and practical experience working with life on the streets.
During the workshop, we help you work on:
• Building strong cityscape compositions
• Developing confidence in street photography
• Working with timing, gesture, and visual storytelling
• Using morning, evening, and available light well
• Seeing beyond the obvious landmarks
• Creating a stronger and more consistent set of images from the week
The goal is not only that you come home with strong photographs from Paris, but that you leave with more confidence, better awareness in the field, and a clearer understanding of how to work photographically in a visually rich city.
is this workshop right for you?
This workshop is suitable for enthusiastic beginners, intermediate photographers, and advanced photographers who want strong locations and personal guidance in both cityscape and street photography.
The pace is active but manageable. Paris is a walking city, and the workshop includes regular walks between locations, time on your feet, and some early starts. A reasonable level of mobility is therefore helpful.
If you enjoy photographing architecture, atmosphere, urban life, and human moments, and want to improve your photography with close support from two instructors, this workshop is likely a very good fit.
A typical day rhythm
Our days are planned around light, atmosphere, and the changing rhythm of the city.
We usually begin early when Paris is quieter and the light is soft, making the most of sunrise and calmer cityscape locations before the streets become busy. Later in the day, we shift more toward street photography, working in neighborhoods, markets, and public spaces where timing, observation, and human presence become central. In the evening, we head back out for warm light, blue hour, reflections, and city life.
Some days lean more toward classic Paris cityscapes, while others give more room for guided street photography and storytelling. This balance is one of the defining strengths of the workshop and helps you build a more varied and complete portfolio from the week.
Day 1 (April 21):
Arrival & Sunset on the Seine
Your first glimpse of Paris — where golden light meets the river and cameras come alive.
Arrival, welcome, and introductions at the hotel. The workshop starts at 3 PM, giving everyone time to settle in before we head out.
Late afternoon: a guided walk along the Seine to warm up the cameras — Pont Neuf, Pont des Arts, and views of Notre Dame. Perfect for mixing cityscapes with candid street moments.
Group dinner at a Parisian bistro, setting the tone for the week ahead.
Day 2 (April 22):
Eiffel Tower Sunrise & Street Life
We chase morning light over the city’s rooftops, then dive into the rhythm of Parisian streets.
Sunrise at Trocadéro & Avenue de Camoëns — iconic Eiffel Tower views with soft morning light.
After breakfast: street photography session in Île de la Cité, capturing daily life, flower markets, and riverside moments.
Afternoon downtime or optional editing review.
Day 3 (April 23):
Montmartre Charm
From quiet courtyards to lively stairways, discover Paris through the eyes of its artists.
Sunrise at the Louvre courtyards, exploring symmetry, long shadows, and quiet morning atmosphere.
Daytime: guided exploration of Montmartre — Rue Foyatier’s stairways, La Maison Rose café, street artists at Place du Tertre. Focus on candid portraits and storytelling.
Sunset at Sacré-Cœur, capturing panoramic views over Paris as the city lights start to glow.
Day 4 (April 24):
Hidden Paris & Eiffel Views
We wander off the beaten path, finding light, lines, and stories behind Paris’s elegant façades.
Sunrise at Place Vendôme or Palais Royal — elegant architecture and morning light play.
Late morning: street photography in Le Marais — boutique-lined streets, café culture, and historic courtyards.
Sunset at Bir-Hakeim Bridge, framing the Eiffel Tower through steel arches for dramatic compositions.
Day 5 (April 25):
Markets, Showcase & Farewell Evening
A day of color, community, and reflection — celebrating images and friendships made along the way.
Morning at Rue Mouffetard street market, practicing dynamic street photography — vendors, colors, and everyday Parisian life.
Afternoon: group showcase session with feedback and discussion. Each participant shares favorite images and lessons learned.
Evening: final rooftop or Seine-side shoot, followed by a farewell dinner at a classic Parisian restaurant.
Day 6 (April 26):
Final Sunrise & Departure
Our last dawn in Paris — one more chance to capture the city waking up in golden light.
Optional sunrise at Pont Alexandre III, with sweeping views of the Seine and the city skyline.
Return to hotel for breakfast and goodbyes. The workshop ends at 12 PM, giving everyone time to pack up and head out at their own pace.
Ambitions & Goals
This workshop is about your growth and your images.
Many photo tours focus heavily on being at the right place at the right time, but the instructors may still spend much of that time making their own photographs. Our philosophy is different. We are there to guide you personally, whether that means helping you refine a cityscape composition, respond to changing light, improve your technical decisions, or become more confident in street photography and visual storytelling.
With a small-group format and close daily contact, you receive personal support throughout the week. The aim is for every participant to return home with photographs they are proud of, along with more confidence and a clearer visual approach.
Just as important is the shared experience. Paris is a city full of energy, atmosphere, and human presence, and the workshop is designed to help you enjoy that fully while growing as a photographer.
